Venue Description

Members of the International Biathlon Union have described the Tenth Mountain Ski Center with its 30-station shooting range as "world class." The center is both a biathlon and cross-country facility that consists of 25 kilometers of ski trails, of which 3 km are lit for night skiing. During the snow-free months, a paved 1.5km loop is available for roller-skiing and roller blading. The venue is 280 meters above sea level.

10th Mountain Lodge

The beautiful Tenth Mountain lodge includes a greatroom, sauna, kitchen, competition office, a fieldstone fireplace, and a unique perspective of the biathlon stadium. The lodge is open for day use on weekends during the winter. The sauna and restrooms on the ground floor are open seven days/week.

Wax Building

A 27-room wax building was built in 2003 and first used during the IBU World Cup in March 2004. The lower level is open to the public seven days a week for waxing. Rest room facilities are also available here. The ski rental room is also located on the bottom floor through door #17.

Stadium and Timing Building

The original Timing Building was moved in 2003 when the Stadium Production room was built. A two-story addition was added during fall 2007 in anticipation of the upcoming World cup. This building is situated in front of the competition finish area. The section that was removed was relocated to the other side of the bleachers and will be used as a concession stand during major events.

The shooting range is located in the stadium with 30 lanes with mechanical targets with night lighting on 10 targets. The site was awarded the International Biathlon Union Class B license in November 2002.

Spectators love the up close and personal viewing of competitions from the bleachers or from the spectator berm, located amongst the birches.
