Greetings Everyone!

As most of you know, we are hosting the Maine Principal Association’s Nordic Skiing Class B & C State Championships this week!  This event will bring over 200 high school skiers and their families to our area starting on Tuesday.  Due to the warm and rainy weather forecast for mid-week, the race dates have been pushed back one day. The races will now begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 22 and at 9:00 AM on Friday, February 23.  We encourage everyone to come up and check out some exciting races and cheer on our local Fort Kent Green Bean skiers!

Our trails will still be open for skiing these two days, but be aware that there may be people and sleds on the 5 K race course—our Lodge Trails (Waska, Can Am, Voyageur).  On Wednesday, February 21, we will need to close off our Lodge Trails to the public.  The snowshoe trails in this area will still be open though.

On Thursday, February 22 and Friday, February 23 (until 2:00 PM), the Lodge Trails and Snowshoe Trails will be closed (the trails can be used as long as the above-mentioned ski trails are not crossed).  However, the following trails will remain openGreen Bean, Red Barn, Mickey’s Way, Acadienne Trail, Violette Settelement and Spike’s Field Loop.  Please access these trails from the LPT, Red Barn or Violette Settlement Trailheads.

We will try to groom all the ski trails ahead of the event, but we likely will not be able to keep the non-race trails groomed through the week.  Thanks for your understanding!
