Hello FKOC Members and Friends!
Over the last couple of months you may have noticed some new signs popping up on our ski trails and new trail maps at the kiosks…. Well, we have been developing a new trail numbering system with corresponding trail signs to help folks navigate our trail system. We realize our trails can be very confusing and intimidating and we are determined to fix this!
Please check out the attached 2016 Ski Trail Mapping System which explains how it all works:

2016 Ski Trail Mapping System
We have worked REALLY hard to get all the information and to make the system easy to understand. We hope you find it helpful. Please give us your feedback and we will try to make improvements. However, we will NOT install Emergency Call Boxes!! hahaha!
We would like to thank Jean-Luc Theriault for his guidance and technical assistance, Carl, Pat and Jean-Luc Theriault for GPSing the trails and Pat Theriault for spending hours at the computer creating and manipulating the maps and the data. This has been a HUGE undertaking and we still want to make the map of the whole system.
We had hoped to have the system completed earlier in the ski season, but we underestimated the amount of work involved—and a few other projects got in the way! Anyway, better late than never! An important benefit of this system is that it can be used year-round, so walking the trails this summer should be much easier—no more excuses!
NOTE: Many thanks go to Laura Audibert for the many hours spent waist high in the snowbanks putting up the signs with frozen fingers…..
